For as long as I can remember I have been in love with all things vintage! As a child I would visit my Auntie Beattie and spend hours dressing up in her pearls whilst exploring her house, which was crammed full of amazing antiques, shabby much loved furniture and fascinating curios. It was this that inspired me to begin collecting vintage items myself. Years later I still feel the same buzz of excitement when getting up early in the morning to scour vintage fairs, markets and auctions to source the very best vintage treasures. I hand pick each and every one for its individual and unique charm, often making it extremely difficult to part with some of my most loved items!
From my passion for vintage my little boutique Poppy & Rose was born in 2010, which I ran with the help of my daughter Suzie. We were based on the vibrant and bustling Bishopthorpe Road in York. We stocked vintage lovelies, together with unusual gifts, gorgeous cards and fabulous vintage inspired homewares too. We were proud to offer the best possible service to all of our wonderful customers, many of whom are now our friends too!
Sadly our shop is now closed, but it is still an exciting time at Poppy & Rose, as we launch our very own website, which offers the the very best of our vintage finds and a selection of other goodies too! I am thrilled to be able to share my passion with you all, and I hope you will enjoy browsing our online store as much as I enjoyed putting it together.
